How to get more Google reviews for your detailing business
By Sean Atakhanian, founder of Detailer Flow · Updated October 28, 2026
Short answer
Ask every customer, every time, right after the job — by text, with a direct link to your Google review form so it takes one tap. Then reply to every review. Don't pay for reviews or only ask happy customers; Google's policies don't allow it.
Step by step
- 1.Get your direct review link from your Google Business Profile (look for "Ask for reviews" or "Share review form").
- 2.Text it to the customer right after you finish, while the clean car is in front of them.
- 3.Keep the message short and personal — use their first name and your business name.
- 4.Send one friendly reminder a couple of days later if they haven't left one.
- 5.Reply to every review, good or bad, so future customers see you care.
Example texts
Thanks for choosing {business name} today, {first name}! If you're happy with the detail, would you leave us a quick Google review? {review link}
Hi {first name}, quick favor — a Google review really helps a small detailing business like ours. It takes 30 seconds: {review link}
What not to do
- Don't offer discounts or freebies in exchange for reviews — Google doesn't allow incentivized reviews.
- Don't only ask customers you think are happy — Google doesn't allow selectively asking for positive reviews.
- Never buy reviews or write them yourself.
How Detailer Flow handles this
On Pro and Pro + AI, a Google review request goes out automatically after every job is marked done, with your direct review link. You don't have to remember to ask. See plans →
